Out of an abundance of caution, and both Governor Cooper's recommendation to cancel or postpone gatherings of over 100 people, and the CDC's current recommendation against gatherings of 50 or more people, due to the COVID-19 virus, the MCAR Board has made the difficult decision to cancel our Spay-ghetti fundraising dinner. The health and safety of our dedicated volunteers and supporters are at the forefront of this decision. 


While we will not be able to have a physical event, we are now hosting a Virtual Spay-ghetti, to be held through Facebook! We have created a special Spay-ghetti page where we will feature and thank all of our sponsors. Supporters of MCAR are invited to make a spaghetti dinner at home on April the 18th for their family and are asked, if so moved, to still donate the $12 that would have been spent at the original Spay-ghetti event to MCAR. We ask participants to post pictures or videos of their dinner and family pets on the Spay-ghetti Facebook page. MCAR will be going Live on Facebook as well to spotlight sponsors and engage our online Community!

Our shelter relies on Spay-ghetti for much needed funds during the Spring months. While we are disappointed that we can't enjoy your company in person at the event, we are grateful for technology and the possibility of sharing a virtual meal with our Facebook Community that now includes over 30,000 people worldwide.
